Layout of History Pages
In an effort to be complete, and to make the specific history you seek easier to find I've separated the various Histories onto separate pages. Please choose from the list below to find what you are looking for.
- General History: Here you'll find history about Madagascar's human inhabitants, its kings and queens, colonization and post-colonial governments.
- Geological History: Eventually I'll have a synopsis of Madagascar's geological history here with some images of pre- and post-gonwanaland break-up.
- Ichthyological History: Who discovered what, when and where. If possible I'll also include an idea of the evolutionary history of Madagascar's fish fauna. As this is still being scientifically studied it might be very fluid.
- Conservation History: When did all this concern begin over Madagascar's ichthyofauna begin, what's been done, where are we going (ok, perhaps not all history, but applicable none the less).

I've gathered the history information found in the appropriate pages from a variety of sources. Not being an expert in Malagasy history I can not vouch for the veracity of all information. I've done my best to cross-check information using multiple sources, and have left out some information either because it was painfully specific or it seemed speculation on the part of the original author.
