Habitat Information

Distribution/Collection Locales:

Small north bank tributary of the Masianaka river
- 2006 by A.R. Saunders and T. Ravelomana.

Conservation Status:

Not present in IUCN Red List

As juveniles inhabit mangrove areas in lagoons and estuaries it is likely that Eleotris fusca is somewhat removed from the effects of inland deforestation in Madagascar.

Typical Habitat:

Adults:
Riverine; collected mainly over mud bottoms, typically in the lower reaches of freshwater streams.
Juveniles:
Esturine, Marine, Brackish; often found in coastal lagoons amongst mangrove roots.
